Facebook Discussion Topics;

Facebook has stated they are going to delete Discussion Topics; So, I am posting them here for future use: Feel free to use them for your own functions.

1. Faith Debate

I have envisioned seeing our children better prepared to understand faith choices upon successful completion of secondary education. I feel faith based debate classes would be beneficial to this end without the system promoting one faith. What are your insights as to what this could look like in public education?

2. What is meant by "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess?

"I believe that the great and awesome day of the Lord which is coming is when God redeems all of Creation - that day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess the Lord Jesus to the Glory of God the Father!" (I'll share a peaceful concept of Armageddon when that topic arrives) Because of this, I intentionally focus on the Love of the Father instead of wrath and judgement so prevelent in religious culture today.

Few, if any, people I know agree. Last night I did a scripture study to back up this premise, but it got too late and I had to stop. Here is what I have so far, listed in order of how we find them in the Bible:

Numbers 21:8-9, Isaiah 29:22-24, Isaiah chapters 42-45, Isaiah 49:6, Isaiah 52:7-10, Isaiah 60:21, Luke 2:30-32, John 3:15-17, John 5:44-45, John 8:15-16, John 8:36, John 12:47, Acts 13:47, Acts 26:22-23, Romans 5:18, Romans 8:18-39, Romans 14:11, Philippians 2:11-16, I John 4:7-11, I John 4:14, I John 5:16.

Please add your thoughts, pro or con to this study. I'll add more verses as time goes on.

  • In my blog on March 17, 2010 I shared the following regarding this topic:
    Hebrews 10:12 states; "But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God." David wrote in Psalm 60:5 "Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered." A summary of John 3:16-18 may be "God so loved the world - not willing that any should perish - that the condemned might be saved!" Certainly God could fail in His plan to redeem all of creation! However, when He says that one day every tongue will confess (Isaiah 45:23-24) and in Joel 2:32 He says that "everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved, I think his plan is clear and I have complete confidence He will get the job done. I don't know about you, but I am overjoyed that He chose me to help serve that purpose! I choose to serve as His right hand everyday for the rest of my life!

    3. Inerrancy
    66 books, many authors, Jew and Gentile, all inspired by the Love and Wonder of a God who impacted their lives! Farrell Till said "it would be an error to try "to prove inerrancy by assuming inerrancy." As the Bible never made the "inerrancy" claim, I'm inclined to agree! Why the big debate? I'm interested in your thoughts.

    For more background, See "The Skeptical Review" linked to my blog on March 18 at http://oneyearbibleblogging.blogspot.com/

    4. Jesus of Nazareth
    Exodus 15:2 states: " The LORD is my strength and my song;
    he has become my salvation.
    He is my God, and I will praise him,
    my father's God, and I will exalt him."

    Much of our adversarial approaches towards one another's faith hinges on this man, Jesus of Nazareth. Truly, I am more interested in hearing how God has spoken to you about this man than in telling you what He has meant in my life. Do you believe salvation hinges on a right understanding of who this man was, or do you feel God will honor our desire to know Him in spite of our differences in belief?

    Many questions surround the title "Jesus of Nazareth" as there is no mention of such a city in the old Testament, nor even the term, some say this discredits the Bible. John 1:45-46 states: "Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."
    "Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?" Nathanael asked.
    "Come and see," said Philip.

    All the gospel writers speak of this term as if it were a common phrase and title used of Jesus during his ministry. In http://oneyearbibleblogging.blogspot.com/ on March 21st, the following was written for as background regarding Nazareth. What are your thoughts? Do you feel this is a worthwhile study regarding Bible accuracy? What relationship do you feel this title "Jesus of Nazareth" has regarding the holiness of Jesus Christ and his dedication to the things of the Father? What do you know of this man? Do you see this man as a good prophet, or as the "Son of God?" How do you feel His life and death affect your relationship with God the Father?

    http://encyclopedia.stateuniversity.com/pages/15753/Nazareth.html The etymology of Nazareth from as early as Eusebius up until the 20th century has been said to derive from netser, a "shoot" or "sprout", while the apocryphal Gospel of Phillip derives the name from Nazara meaning "truth".

    We have dealt with this controversy before, but allow me to bring it up again. "Jesus of Nazareth." Claims are that there was no such city in Jesus day, however, excavations as recent as December 2009 have claimed to have found remains of one such city. It has been my earlier conclusion that this was a common title of the people for Jesus - and it is true the title was used in this passage and in Mark. However, Mark continues to use the phrase "Son of God" and in Mark 1:24 places the words "Holy One of God" in the mouth of the demon. As the title "Son of God" was misunderstood in Jesus day and was eventually used to crucify him on claims of blasphemy, Jesus often requested that the title not be used. Thus, the term "Jesus of Nazareth" was a much safer title. As reflected through prophecy of the books of the law and prophets, the term would have to be understood as "Jesus the Nazirite" which would also depict this title of "Holy One of God."

    Another interesting consideration is that the present day city of Nazareth lies in the tribal region of Zebulun. Matthew 4:13 states: "Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali" According to the tribal map http://www.biblestudysite.com/ispal.htm we looked at above, present day Nazareth (not to be confused with #45 'Naarath) already lies within the territory of Zebulun. We might assume that the tribal boundaries may have moved so that Zebulun reached all the way to the sea of Galilee with a border touching Naphtali along the northern shore at Capernaum (#13). We might also consider that Joseph's Nazareth might not be located within the area of present day Nazareth: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazareth "some scholars to question whether "Nazareth" and its cognates in the New Testament actually refer to the settlement we know traditionally as Nazareth in Lower Galilee" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galilee "Jesus was from the Galilee. According to the Bible, Solomon rewarded Hiram I for certain services by giving him the gift of an upland plain among the mountains of Naphtali. Hiram called it "the land of Cabul". In Isaiah (8:23/9:1),(This verse is Isaiah 8:23 in the Tanakh) the region is referred to as "the District of the Nations" (גְּלִיל - הַגּוׁיִם; lit:Glil HaGoyim), with much of this name being retained in its present name of Galil or HaGalil."

    Isaiah 9:1; "Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan" References to (2 Kings 15:29 and 2 Chronicles 16:4) in in the Harper Study Bible by (Zondervan Bible Publishers). Footnote in the same states: "In the former time, 734 B.C., Tiglath-pileser III deprived Israel of Ephraim, Zebulun, and Naphtali (2 Ki 15.29); in the latter time, looks forward to a time of restoration Mt 4.13-17 sees a fulfilment of these words in Jesus' preaching in Galilee.

    5. Peace Mongering
    I escaped onto a tangent as I was blogging on Joshua 10 today, so thought I would clarify my opinions here. I welcome your response.

    As I have used this blogsite as quite a pedestal as a "peace monger," (A peace monger is one who attempts to stir up or spread ideals that would make possible a security from civil or moral dysfunction with the intent of establishing harmonious relations within the specified group. Such ideals would stand open to debate or scrutiny, not necessarily establishing the desired affect (my entry on WikiAnswers)),

    I must back off for a moment and establish the fact that I stood behind the retribution taken against the terrorists who attacked the world trade center of the United States on September 11, 2001. I stand behind the efforts of these United States of America as they helped to re-establish peace worldwide following the attacks of Germany and Japan in the II World War. And yet, I do not abide by the long drawn out war presently being waged against Muslim countries who have not declared war against these United States without any efforts to speak with the enemies within regarding peace. I also have become very frustrated with the gigantic expenditures within a failing economy against the desire of our chosen leader.

    These United States of America have the capability of micro-management of pinpoint military attacks without excess loss of life at a fraction of the cost of our present military escapades. We are not negotiating for peace! We are bad mouthing our leadership while the world is watching! We are not requiring compensation from the countries requesting our services! We have acted arrogantly within the worldwide community, claiming a self proclaimed righteousness and justification regardless of our sins and errors! We have spent nearly 10 years, killing hundreds of thousands of individuals - well beyond any natural catastrophes which have endeared our compassion! We have ceased to see this as a humanitarian effort! We have not been blessed by God in bringing down the leadership of our Enemy and we have not sought God's leadership in negotiating a world peace.

    That's just my opinion, thanks for allowing me to share.

    6. A Call to Compassion and Forgiveness
    a. I shared the following with a friend who's heart lies in the midst of the Palestine conflict. Their plight is greatly affected by the theologies and philosophies of men. I share it with all my friends here and cherish your response in word or in deed;

    Until the ideologies of the world quit seeing one another as righteous or unrighteous - upright, or wicked - there will continue to be bloodshed. The Bible speaks of a Prince of Peace who's Kingdom shall have no end. Israel's purpose as a chosen people was to bring about that Prince. That Prince has come and we can have life in His name.

    You are absolutely right - those who picture the commander of the Lord's army (Jesus Christ) as for one side or another - or ever carrying any weapon except peace and love for men on both sides of a conflict must read about Him again and understand the Love of the God of all. Bloodshed in the name of the one true God must stop immediately. We must all pray that the hatred, violence, vengeance and bloodshed stop as men begin to see one another through His heart. Claiming to serve the Prince of Peace through bloodshed is a a major deception and the world suffers His judgment once again.

    Hundreds of thousands of Muslims dying in honor of mistaken ideologies is nothing short of German atrocities upon the Jews - a holocaust or sacrifice to our ideologies if you will. Both sides of every conflict must talk of peace and reach out to their enemies in acts of love and prayer.

    Christians, Muslims, and Jews must stop the killing in the name of the one true God. When we stop the bloodshed, and seek Peace together, we will find Him.

    b. We share one heart! We are fighting nothing less than a very strong end time theology that too many Christians, Jews, and Muslims are bent on a coming Armageddon and a wrath of God - ironically each of whom believes they are the chosen people of God. Although they may claim God loves the world, they have refused to love their enemy and pray for the salvation of those who persecute them.

    Since 911, a growing hatred has been permeating American culture. It has infiltrated our theologies, our politics, and our international policies. The same lust for blood that drove radical individuals to attrocities within the USA, not to mention so many prior other locations worldwide has penetrated the hearts of men and removed the love and peace that is only available through the love and forgiveness available through our one true God. Yet, that same radical religious intollerance has caused an insanity within the masses causing the ongoing deaths of hundreds of thousands annually. That insanity has caused even those who preach of love and forgiveness for our enemies to refuse to talk with the enemy. Little does western culture understand the amount of fear, resentment, widows, orphans, oppression, unemployment, and unrest that the considered enemy must deal with on a daily basis. Little do we understand that the reputation of Christianity and Judaism is anything but Love and acceptance to the average Muslim or non-Christian or Jew within that region of "His" world. Too often, the considered power within our ideologies of Anti-Christ far outweigh our faith in the power of God's Love.

    Few believe the verses we quote that "Those who seek the Lord will find Him. Yet, that is the very essence of our religion! Our own religious intollerances go against everything we believe - at least in Christianity.

    The errant theologies of the Jews not realizing they were blessed to be a blessing are well reflected in their own pages of scripture and prophecy. Those same presuppositions and justifications for bloodshed are now carried forward by those who consider themselves elect. Those who imagine "election" or "chosen" or "remnant" to be anything more than a call to discipleship to spread His Love again to the world, calling all men back to the Love of the Father are quickly engulfing the world in war, oppression, and a lack of His blessings. Few have taken the time to understand how the implications of present end times theologies were fulfilled within the first century AD and to recognize the Love and Peace which must ultimately govern His Kingdom. When the mindset of men is that war is what is suppose to happen for Christ to return, war will remain. When the mindset of men is that Love and Peace is what is suppose to happen for Christ to return - to the glory of God our Father, we shall meet Him face to face.

    My greatest concern is for my brethren is this: if I am wrong that His Love, grace, and peace are sufficient for all mankind's sin - If He is indeed the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God (to save!) Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace - then what becomes of those who honor Him with violence, vengeance, and bloodshed? (read Isaiah 9:5-7) If we misunderstand His Kingdom and His mission, and misrepresent His Love to the world, what is to become of us? The nation of Israel continues to represent that struggle with God which they always have - yet His children will be known for the fruits of His Spirit within - Love, Joy, Peace. Before the end comes, Israel must know this and call the world to Peace and brotherhood. Lord, may thy Kingdom come and thy will be done. Present conflicts are yet the representation of birth pains.

    Certainly, I cannot say the Arab nations are not also at fault as the tensions and hatred exist on both sides along religious lines. I understand your emotions completely as the atrocities of war you experience are just as real against Israel and western culture as western and Israeli emotions are bent against the terrorism that have stemmed from radical Islam.

    Unfortunately, although prophecy states that war is not the end, but only the beginning - it does not say there will be no more war in our lifetimes. Fortunately, prophecy also states that Love and Peace will come as every knee will bow and every tongue confess the strength and righteousness that can be found in God alone. Yet we have no assurances that this will come within our lifetimes. We must be His servants to bring about His Kingdom. It is now up to each of us to love one another because He already fulfilled His part of the equation.

    Israel still has blessing from God - but not because of their military strength. Love and Peace will begin in that region as beginning in Jerusalem, men will embrace the way and the truth and the life of the Prince of Peace.

    It must begin with prayer and forgiveness on the part of each one of us as the bloodshed of retaliation and religious intollerance will only result in the death and destruction of many who succomb to its power, as well as far too many innocents as you witness daily. My heart is filled with compassion for you and your loved ones as the loss of life within the Arab and Muslim world continues at well over 10 times the rate of American loss of life.

    Vengeance is mine says the Lord, I will repay. Therefore, we must all continue to forgive, and pray - and lift our voices for Peace!

    We must each raise our voices for an end to hostilities in His name.

    7. Them Good Old Days

    Remember the good old days when going to church meant refining your soul instead of condemning your culture? When the instruction was how to go out into all the world and share His good news instead of causing everyone to run and hide - us from them and them from us?

    Remember when the church honored national leadership instead of condemning the ideals of democratic leadership which claimed "One Nation under God" and allowed our diverse views as we sought how to help one another - instead of condemning our fellowman and claiming our leadership was stupid and anti-Christ?

    When we demand that our ideals and morality must govern the nation, how are we different than our enemy? How can we justify our very ideals when we fail to live up to them?

    Christianity is very anxious to see the 10 commandments back in the schools - and the Bible for that matter! Didn't Jesus condense the law to make it a bit easier to understand? John 3:16; "For God so Loved the World, He sent His only Son - not to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved" He said all the law and the prophets can be summarized as follows: "Love God and Love man" Loving God shouldn't be that difficult when we realize He saved US! If He loved our fellowman, maybe we should do the same! That's what needs to be taught from the Bible in our schools, isn't it? Judaism and Islam may disagree as they are much more focussed on the Mosaic law, but Christian's are suppose to understand there is something so much greater! Amen!

    If you agree this message must be shared, please do! Thanks.

    8. Fellowship In The Park

    FITp (Fellowship in the Schools might also be considered 'FITs)

    The following is a suggested guide for a weekly community outreach event that can be sponsored by any local congregation as they set up sporting events, a potluck, and fellowship with an invitation to all.
    Perhaps signs could be made up claiming: "Tax collectors and Sinners are welcome here"

    Speakers or entertainers might be used and rotated between various fellowships and locations from week to week - and a study and fellowship could be held within a central location such as the pavillion throughout the afternoon (if such an event were held on Sundays)

    To keep the peace and focus the group, participants might be asked to sign a form similar to the following.

    Sample form:
    I. I believe in God, who created the earth and loved all He had made.
    II. I believe He promised if we sought Him, we would find Him.
    III. I believe He loved us enough that He took care of our salvation.
    IV. I believe He wants us to love one another - and that He gave us a plan:

    As part of this fellowship, I will adhere by the following rules:
    1. I will honor God and my fellowman in my words and actions.
    2. I will remove all negative images I hold regarding my fellowman or their belief.
    3. I will honor the authority of this fellowship and our greater communities
    4. I will avoid fighting and treat this fellowship with love and respect as I participate.
    5. I will intentionally work to remove all hatred within my mind against my fellowman.
    6. I will intentionally work towards the respect of others property and privacy.
    7. I will seek to understand the pain and frustration that motivates negative actions.
    8. I readily confess that I am a sinner in need of grace and will be open to allowing others to do the same without interuption or interferance. I am prepared to offer forgiveness for the failures or weakness of those who may break these rules and am willing to continue to pursue fellowship with them.
    9. I will commit to prayer and care both for and with my fellowman.
    10. I am here to have a good time and allow others to do the same!

     9. Using The Word of God for Peace
    November 19, 2010

    Dear Brothers and Sisters within God's greater Kingdom;

    I am hereby sharing this letter I wrote to the (pastor of evangelism) at my church on November 19, 2010. This first piece is His response to me. The second is a short note I forwarded to Sami Awad from Holy Land Trust and Mark Braverman, author of Fatal Embrace. Let's focus on Blake's prophetic statement "if I feel the need." Blake is working with Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg, powerful voices within the Christian Church. They are planning a simulcast to enable and embolden the Christian Church to witness the existence of God. Together, we can put some pressure towards understanding a clearer Biblical understanding of His personality of Love and what the evil of our present ideologies is doing in the reality of our World. Their mission focus is "The Institute" and our passionate letters and prayers now will drive a powerful influence into their work and into the Kingdom. No money is being requested, only input and action at this critical juncture in history. The mission verse from "The Institute" is from Colossians 4:5; "Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity." I believe that is our intent as well. Please be passionate, sincere, and respectful in your correspondence, but please speak of what God has been speaking to you. Peace and Blessings to you all;

    Rick

    Rick,

    I have received all of your emails. I have honestly read every word. I've even re-read some of these emails.

    However, I have no comment. I have nothing to say. I feel badly if my lack of input and feedback makes you frustrated. I feel that I have heard you and will pass your emails on, "if I feel the need."

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

    Blake

    (2nd, a note requesting prayer from Brother's involved in seeking our "Prince of Peace")
    Mark, Sami, and Dan;

    I have been attempting to find a voice within the Christian Churches in America as I believe our war is one of ideologies. I am now sharing emails with the Pastor of Evangelism at Cherry Hills Community Church. In my anxiety and urgency, I have served to alienate myself yesterday, yet caught his attention. This morning I felt led to share the following, and wish to share this with you also as you are each so passionately fighting within this war. Please keep this dialogue in your prayers so that I might keep God at the forfront and my own pride at bay.

    In Him,

    Rick

    (3rd, the correspondence to the Church)
    November 19, 2010.

    I can never seem to get this right. I thought Revelation 8:5 had been included in the passages listed in the first part of this letter (below). So, I used the word "hurl" to bring it up. I will share these verses to place it in further context - but the primary was Revelation 8:5 regarding the "coal" in the earlier grouping. These groupings of verses have been copied from my link to Bible Gateway. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/

    Lamentations 2:1

    New International Version
    How the Lord has covered Daughter Zion with the cloud of his anger ! He has hurled down the splendor of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

    Revelation 8:7

    November 19, 2010

    (To the Pastor of Evangelism)

    I am so sorry to bug you, but I hope my communication expressed several things yesterday; 1. The reason I am bugging you is your position in the Church as a spokesperson and Shepherd is one of tremendous power and influence for a world at war. 2. The passion and power I feel there is behind the message I feel I have been called to share with the world. 3. My desire to speak "The Word of God". However, in my own weakness, I have only served to alienate the world in my attempt the weakness of allowing this message to be ignored.

    As my day went on yesterday, I felt forced to grapple with my own errors of the morning - and yet by day's end, the letter was no better than it started out. I am going to send it to Christianity Today for editing as I met a writer there last week who spoke passionately to the same calling but also was struggling with presentation and how to find a voice. And yet, this morning, as I woke the following profile was on my mind and immediately spelled out.

    Before dismissing this, please consider the magnitude and Biblical context of the words and do not dismiss me as yet some new wierdo on the block. It is not meant to offend, but to motivate a Christain Army to choose a new weapon for war against the principalities and demons of Revelation 16:14.

    "This is Newsworthy! A vast amount of Christianity in America today does not believe Peace is possible until their imagery of their Jesus returning to earth occurs. They believe the anti-Christ is the enemy, but it is they themselves who have set up one religion and belief over all others in complete arrogance against the Peace that is absolutely available through God's Spirit - and His Word-sharper than a any sword!"

    If this message makes any sense to you after you consider its Biblical context, please take a look at the facebook links on the electronic businesscard above and see the work God has been calling me to. I told you this was not important, but that comment of mine has faced tremendous judgment within and led to the outburst that cast my work aside yesterday. I will truly try not to make that mistake again. My apologies. The statement comes from consistent interviews within the church - both pre-millenial and a-millenial viewpoints. The same message came through a pastor of the 4-square church. The signifacance of the name of His church came to light yesterday in my devotions as I studied the etymologies of Gog and Magog. "Platform of a roof or altar, representative in Prophetic days of the 4 corners of the earth, whereon the sacrifices of the prayers of the saints are presented as a fragrance, holy to the Lord. This leads directly to the act of the Priest who takes coals from the altar into the Holy of Holies to not only atone for His own sins, but for those of the people of the land. Such symbolism continues through the following verses.

    Leviticus 16:12
    He is to take a censer full of burning coals from the altar before the LORD and two handfuls of finely ground fragrant incense and take them behind the curtain.
    Leviticus 16:11-13 (in Context) Leviticus 16 (Whole Chapter)

    Numbers 16:7
    and tomorrow put burning coals and incense in them before the LORD. The man the LORD chooses will be the one who is holy. You Levites have gone too far!”
    Numbers 16:6-8 (in Context) Numbers 16 (Whole Chapter)

    Numbers 16:18
    So each of them took his censer, put burning coals and incense in it, and stood with Moses and Aaron at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
    Numbers 16:17-19 (in Context) Numbers 16 (Whole Chapter)

    Numbers 16:37
    “Tell Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest, to remove the censers from the charred remains and scatter the coals some distance away, for the censers are holy—
    Numbers 16:36-38 (in Context) Numbers 16 (Whole Chapter)

    Numbers 16:46
    Then Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer and put incense in it, along with burning coals from the altar, and hurry to the assembly to make atonement for them. Wrath has come out from the LORD; the plague has started.”
    Numbers 16:45-47 (in Context) Numbers 16 (Whole Chapter)

    2 Samuel 22:9
    Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.

    1 Kings 19:6

    I found the same was reflected in the reading from Isaiah 6:1-7 Wednesday night. Amidst the beauty of man's temple and imagery, the angel covered its eyes and its feet (unable to see or move, yet fanning the flames. The smoke of God's wrath (a fragrant offering incensed by the people) filled the temple. Isaiah was left shaken and shamed. In the remainder of the message from the presenter at our church, he shamed and poked fun of all other forms of worship apart from his own imagery and ideals. The truth of our faith is that there is but one God - and if we, the sheep and goats of his pasture will but seek Him together in Love, we will find Him. None of our faiths grant us salvation, He did. We are then called to Love one another as we seek Him.

    The problem with our ideologies remains a world deadlocked in fear, enmity, strife, and bloodshed.

    I could not have shared as much over the phone or in person. Please devote this to prayer and advise me what to do!

    Thank You.

    Rick

    ps. One final sign I feel called to share before I send this in reference to Ephesians 2.

    Genesis 15:17
    When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.

    November 16, 2010
    Dave and Blake;

    I am again humbled by both of you this morning. Blake, although we were not able to speak, you took great lengths to find me and pass along the message. Dave, if I had not had an appointment with Blake, I may well have missed the opportunity to visit with you and hear you speak. As always, I have been blessed.

    My thanks to both of you also for your desire and willingness to meet with me. As I mentioned to Dave, if there is a chance to coordinate such efforts into a combined meeting, that would be awesome, but I would be happy to visit with both of you individually also.

    Allow me to break the ice so that we can all pray about this and be prepared to enter this meeting with our eyes wide open - that being said, please don't be nervous, I just wish to share a story about evangelism.

    Dave finished his talk with a challenge: meet a nonchristian and get a question. I immediately felt it would be tough to beat the question posed to me last week by a North Vietnamese Communist Ambassador; "Why did God allow the Geneva Convention to split my country, separating us from the church of God? Why did the church then join the French in their attempt to colonize my country? Why did God abandon us? He also had a request; When you come into my country to provide such wonderful help and missions, please leave your pride and arrogance at home. That being said, we don't have any problem talking with you about God.

    Now, I did not record the conversation, but that is how it sticks in my mind. I attended the Global Faith Forum at Northwood Evangelical Church in Fort Worth Texas. Besides this man, I visited with a Saudi Prince with a great sense of humor; several devout Muslims - one woman who is in the business of conflict resolution with a great sense of humor; a zionist Jew with tremendous pride; a humble Jew who speaks to churches throughout our Country asking that we as Christians stop enabling the addictions of his people as they dwell on their ideals of being the chosen race and in so doing are destroying a land he knows and loves through destruction and bloodshed; Sami Awad, internationally known Christian Palestinian peace activist who is often referred to as the modern Ghandi; A writer from Christianity today, a Christian author and pastor, and a pastor from Las Vegas who are experiencing transformation and deepening a faith as they engage their worlds - and their enemies in love; A white House staffer who shared some of the pain our Christian President has felt in the attacks he has been forced to deal with from within the Church. All this and many more from the vision acted upon by an Evangelical Presbyterian Pastor who struggles with many questions, yet remains strong in His doctrinal beliefs.

    Dave, you spoke this morning regarding "credibility". So, as I share my story, you may wonder who am I, a Landscape Maintenance Contractor, to speak to the beauty and curse of theology? I've already written too long, but let me share quickly why I feel led by God to meet with you and preface the material I will give you:

    In preparation, I really like the verse you shared in the Institute flier, Blake; Colossians 4:5; "Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity."

    In 2009, I felt led to start a mission; "Evangelizing Within Contemporary Religiousity". I saw a world at war through ideologies about this One True God we have so far proved through our apologetics. I seemed to see that the more important element needed in this discussion regarded the very personality of God revealed in Scripture. Jews, Muslims, and Christians were all focussing on this wrath of God revealed in the Old Testament and thus imagining ideals of "Chosen", "Elect", "Saved", "Unsaved", "Infidels". The pride, arrogance, intolerance creeping into our theological houses were bringing on more and more fear, anger, hostility, bloodshed. Our youth were abandoning our beliefs in droves as we established greater and greater separations from our anti-cultures and our belief in the power of this image of some fallen angel against the almighty power and saving grace of the Creator had become overwhelming as our cultures stood in judgment and condemnation upon one another. But, how to encourage others to envision my mission...

    In September, 2009, alone but motivated, I felt called to write a book with the title of the Mission Above (EWCR). Tacky not appealing. Yet God helped me write a book that left me stunned and amazed at the amount of information he threw into this book as I reached out to Love my fellowman in His name. He gave me a new title; "Talk About Love". The vision he has given me is that this would be the first of a series; Book 2 "Talk about Joy", Book 3 "Talk about Peace"... you get the picture. After planning for 21 chapters (7 sections of 3 chapters each), He told me we were done at the end of a month when I had written 9 of the proposed 21 chapters. I assure you, it was not me writing, but it was me being taught. Navpress would not take the time to read the book - based once again on that credibility I spoke of earlier - they recommended I get a following on facebook - to which I responded, great idea, but who has the time.

    The next mission vision came in January of 2010. Through 3 years of reading the One Year Bible in depth, I found the Love of God was a much stronger message than the wrath of God. He kep't saying things like "All people", "All Nations", "Every knee" will bow, "Every Tongue"! Beyond that, He kep't condemning "favoritism" and "partiality" saying over and over that was part of man's imagery, not part of His Being. Come January 2010, as I began my fourth reading, I could ignore it no longer even though it was causing me to appear to be the fool with the odd theology in all our Christian circles. If I were to become His disciple and carry this message, I was going to have to do something else that was drastic. I was going to have to write a Bible Commentary through the filter of John 3:16-17. I was still struggling with John 3:18, but He has helped me there also. "If we bear false witness of His Love against our neighbor, He will use that false witness against us. If we fail to believe in His Love, we stand condemned with all those whom we condemn. If we fail to see the victory in His death over death and His all encompassing power to save, we will fail to see the answer to our prayers when we pray that we might be able to save our loved ones - "No problem, I already did. One day they will all understand, but today - YOU must believe."

    So, for credibility, let me just say that in honor to His calling and instruction, beginning January 30 through study, exegesis, hermaneutics, escatology, I have written Bible Commentary on Exodus 20 through Joshua. I have written Commentary on Matthew 23-Luke. I have written commentary through much of Psalms and some of Proverbs. Although my landscape business required too much time come April to continue to pursue the in depth commentary, I have been able to continue a mission on facebook called "One Year Bible Blogging" continue to run daily Bible Readings through this filter of John 3:16-18. The results of this simple blogging mission and calling have been mind-boggling to say the least. I am prepared to present a quick synopsis culminating in last week's seminar that will take about 30 minutes of your time.

    As evangelizing the same old way seems a bit senile, I have some suggestions based on my experiences. That is the reason I wish to talk. At times, considering filters of "Love" or "Wrath" seem inconsequensial, yet at other times, they seem to change everything and could pack His churches beyond your present comprehension.

    I look forward to talking with you more of my travels. How is 9am Thursday over coffee? Please feel free to invite Lee and Mark, I'm excited about what God has called you to and why he wants me to meet with you, I hope you are too. I will be happy to bring a share packet for each of you, so let me know who, when, and where. Thanks.

    Sincerely;

    Rick.

    10. Horn For The Holy Day
    Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Land of Our Father;

    Prepare to hear an impassioned plea to bring the Peace of God back to our troubled world Today! Please read and share our Father's Love to the best of your ability. You have seldom heard this message within the ideologies of mankind. Pray, meditate, relax, or whatever works best for you and allow God to bring His message Home for you in such a way that with your help, He can and will change your World! I am quite sure you will experience His "Rapture", His "Love" for you today if you will take a moment to heed the sound of His trumpet call! Join the ranks of His disciples!

    In preparation for this testimonial, allow me to quote a few passages from the New International Version of the Word of God, spoken through children of Israel, Children of God.

    Ezekiel 21:2-3 “Son of man, set your face against Jerusalem and preach against the sanctuary. Prophesy against the land of Israel and say to her: ‘This is what the LORD says: I am against you. I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you both the righteous and the wicked."

    Isaiah 55:11-12a; "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song"

    Hebrews 4:10-13; "for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."

    Isaiah 59:8; "The way of peace they do not know; there is no justice in their paths. They have turned them into crooked roads; no one who walks along them will know peace."

    Proverbs 3:6; "in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

    Psalm 49:1 "Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who live in this world,"

    Psalm 50:12; "the world is mine, and all that is in it."

    Isaiah 12:5; "let this be known to all the world."

    Isaiah 18:3; All you people of the world, you who live on the earth, when a banner is raised on the mountains, you will see it, and when a trumpet sounds, you will hear it."

    Mark 16:15; "He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'"

    Matthew 24:14; "a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come"

    Isaiah 52:9; "Isaiah 52:9; 'How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'"

    Listen then to this testimony from yet another son of men;

    In His attempts to instruct His children in His Love and to prepare them for His Kingdom, God drew Moses from the troubled waters of the Nile in Egypt. At that time, Egypt represented the Mountains of religious thought and worship, a storehouse of myths and legends regarding the Lord of Creation. Through wrestling with Israel, God had led them into a time of seeming exile from His land, to better understand this stew of religious worship. Through their law, God instructed them to totally devote their enemies to the Lord. Yet true to form, Jacob deceived His brethren, bearing false witness in claiming our Father's blessing for themselves and destroying God's Way, [ie. His Promised Land]. Because of the enmity and strife brought on by their military action, and contiuing to shed the blood of God's children upon His Holy ground, God sent them into exile throughout all peoples, cultures, and lands, yet promised Salvation and a restoration within His Love and Family.

    This promised messenger of salvation was born into this Jewish culture, in the small town of Bethlehem where livestock were raised for the Sacrificial rituals within Jerusalem, which was then the Mountain of religious culture within the Greek and Roman worlds, God's Zion if you will. God's Wisdom of the ages, as spoken through their prophets, had become flesh and dwelt among them in order to fulfill God's plan, which they had recorded, for salvation. As a Rabbi, this Messiah redefined the military interpretation of [totally devote them to God] through words such as "Love your neighbor as yourself"! He claimed their first commandment "Love the Lord your God" was the most important, but the second, like it from Leviticus 19:18b; "love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD." was very much like it. Emmanuel proclaimed that this narrow way of understanding the scriptures summarized all of their law and prophets. [Totally devote them], now required Love and Prayer and Peace to be shared through His children with their enemies; Indeed, there was no longer any room left for alterior interpretation. And yet, Christ's followers have been assuming the alterior interpretation for 2 millenium as they tend to stand in judgment upon the worship and ideologies of others.

    Being persistent in sharing His message of Hope and Peace, and according to the firm belief of over 1.5 billion people worldwide, God apparently chose to wrestle again with the ideologies of mankind by speaking through yet another son of man, Muhammad (PBUH). The message this time was "You must submit to "My Wisdom, My Love, My Way, My Truth, My Light in service to your fellowman and to the Unity that I Am and that I represent". And yet, Muslims also have fallen prey to the sins of their fathers by bowing to images of favoritism and partiality in relation to the All Mighty Love of God for all of His Creatures within all of His Lands.

    In this 21st century, these three religious brethren refuse to correct the obvious misinterpretations of the prophetic Wisdom of God as they freely exercise their militant strength and pride in actions vengeance, anger, and the shedding of blood. These militaristic demons of Revelation 16:13 have now brought our world to the brink of further destruction as the tend to serve the son of perdition or destruction - clearly in defiance of God bearing witness against these sins of favoritism and partiality so obviously represented throughout the zionist culture and so many of its adversaries.

    Leviticus 19:15; "Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly."

    I Timothy 5:21; "I charge you, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, to keep these instructions without partiality, and to do nothing out of favoritism."

    This 21st century has united His Land through electronics. For the past 3 years, God has been preparing me in miraculous ways to present this challenge through sharing His Wisdom as expressed in His Word through electronic soundbites. I have been anxious to speak, but He attempts to keep me humble - just sharing His Word into these troubled religious waters.

    He has taught me that His Land represents the Dust of His Creation! The sand on the shores of His Spiritual waters! He has shown me through His Word that His People have inherited the earth! Not only Palestine, not only Israel! Indeed, his truth has been sent through their exile and oppression and His Story has reached the four corners of His altar, His Land! The time for fellowship offerings in harvest of the seed they have planted has now arrived. He has instructed me without fail that we must not worship created things, persons, nations, or cultures! He has taught me that we must come together with all of creation and worship Him. We must submit together under His Way, His Truth, and His everlasting Life. We must be brought to our knees as we release our pride and we must confess that His Way is the only Way to Peace for those of us, His remnant, remaining here in His Land.

    I am a common man and I live among common men. I have been raised at the feet of His beautiful Mountains of Colorado in America. I have been raised at the feet of His mountains of Christianity; The seat of the religious right is within 100 miles of my home. I have been raised in multiple Christian cultures indoctrinated in ideologies of "election". I am presently a member of a church indocrinated in pre-millenial dispensationalism - a strong advocate of the zionist movement. I have witnessed their pride, their arrogance, their fear, their enmity, their strife, and most recently, their intolerance of the worship practices of their fellowman as they appear to presume such practices serve false images of their god or some other god. Although I continue to worship God within that cultue, Three years ago, I experienced a Spiritual awakening as I realized such pride, arrogance, enmity and strife could not possibly be the fruit of the Spirit I read of in the Word of God. I can only presume it was His Spirit that inflamed me to commit to studying His Word through the pursuit of His Love and His Righteousness.

    Through this devotion and the study of His Story and the meaning of names, I have come to understand cultural meanings of my name. The sur-name given me at my birth means "Border dweller" or "From under the bridge". My first name means Brave, or Lion-Hearted and I know that through His grace and prodding, I have been forced to be passionate about this calling - standing in the face of powerful adversaries within my culture, witnessing that Our God is Greater than our imaginations. My middle name means "little king" or "famous bearer." Through the lineage of my Mother, I bear the title "From West of the Bridge". Within that light, I welcome the participation in spreading His Love and His Peace with all of my cousins, brothers and sisters, friends and relation from Eastern cultures across this great divide - as well as full participation with all my loved ones here at home, no one stands exempt from His Love - all are invited to participate for Peace!

    It is time to unite under His banner of Peace. It is my desire that He become greater and I become less as I request your help in bearing His Good News to all of Creation - beginning with a profound call to His People in His Holy Land to Create a lasting Peace in Palestine encompassing all of His Children. Sons and daughters of men, speak the words of God in Peace and Love and unite this troubled world into One Body. In His purity, this has been the passion of Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindu's, and all of God's beloved Children whenever and wherever we have chosen to shed these sins of pride. Sound the Horns of His Salvation throughout His Land!

    I shall continue to bear such witness through all my days here on this earth. I invite you to see the journals of my travels available at http://www.oneyearbibleblogging.blogspot.com/ , http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1074381442 and

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/One-Year-Bible-Blogging/322591628956 .

    In desperation, given the importance of this mission to save His children further pain and heartache, I passionately urge you to enter the conversations of others as we spread the news of our Father's requirements of Peace, Love, Honor, and Respect - without allowing the urgency of this message to wane. Purify yourself in His Spirit through the confession of your sins. Call for His Justice for all people! Through our passion for humanity we have joined together before to change our world and make it a better place. Together, we have changed a world of slavery and apartheid! There has been so much more and there is still so much left to do! We are the generation dedicated to positive change! We must absolutely believe that we WILL, with Our Father's Help and encouragement, secure the rights and privileges for our brothers and sisters upon all the Holy Grounds of Our Father. Once and for all time, let us adhere to His admonismnent of our sins of favoritism and partiality when it comes to bearing witness for the eternal life of our brothers and sisters, our friends and neighbors, our blood flowing throughout all of creation! Defeat the power of the devil once and for all! Commit, Submit! and Pray!

    As with all those who would speak the printed Wisdom and Stories of God, I have not been called to forcast future events. However, I can absolutely use His printed word to interpret current events. In this lies the great miraculous proof of His Truth within His Story as it reflects Our Father's Printed Word! I have stood in witness to the Biblical truths reflected in Revelation 17:15-18 as the demonic influences of Zionism seek to devour the flesh of other religious cultures and Spiritual movements within Our Father's Holy land.

    Revelation 17:15-18; "Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages. The beast and the ten horns (although there is mystery to this story, Israel was considered to be representative of 10 tribes of the sons of Jacob, the other two were symbolically centered within Jerusalem and were referred to as Judah) you saw will hate the prostitute (much of prophecy refers to both the 10 tribes and the two tribes (centered in Jerusalem) as prostitutes). They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled. The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings (religions) of the earth.”

    I bear witness to the grief and wailing daily of all of God's chidren as we mourn the Holocaust of His children - both in the evil tragedies reflected in Christian Europe against the Jewish people, and in the devouring of Palestinian lands and the 4 generations of "oppression camps", death, and demoralization of the displaced people and nation of Palestine. Emmanuel Himself is fully reflected in both these people as He was born and raised as a Palestinian Jew who lived His life reaching out to and loving His neighbors. His was the Way of Peace. Today we witness such tragedy in an amazingly close comparison to Revelation 18 as we mourn the loss of Godly virtue within our religious prides of favoritism and partiality! What are we to do to rise above this grief? Our Brother, Sami Awad from Bethlehem, a Palestinian Christian calls for compassion for His Jewish brothers as He chose to lay in their tombs of Auschwitz and share their pain. Let us rally around His peace efforts, and instill His attitude of forgiveness and Love as we embrace the pain and heartache He experiences with His people.

    I believe Our Father's message to His people today is this. As you bear witness to His Story and the Truth of His Love and Compassion, It is time to quit bruising the heel of our brethren. It is time to recognize the blow to our prides for what it is! It is the Love of our God knocking down the walls of our Narrow enclosures. It is time to lay down our weapons of death, destruction, and bloodshed upon the Holy Lands of Our Father. It is time to beat our swords into plowshares! It is time to put our children to work for the next seven years and beyond in a worldwide effort to reclaim Our Father's Land.

    Psalm 95:6; "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker"

    II Chronicles 7:14; "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

    It is time for fellowship as we gather around the altar of our Lord and partake of the bread and the wine in remembrance of the unity, prepared by our Father within His body broken for us. It is time that through that body, we too break down our dividing walls of hostility and embrace our fellowman. It is time to forgive, live, and let live. It is time to be bound together as we seek to win Our Father's approval and Love. It is time to Believe in the One and only Truth that is God! It is not a time for patience; It is a time for an impassioned call for renewal and rebirth! This is the great and awesome day of the Lord!

    Deuteronomy 5:24; "The LORD our God has shown us his glory and his majesty, and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them."

    Deuteronomy 30:2b-3a; "when you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes"

    Psalm 95:6-8a; "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice, 'Do not harden your hearts'"

    Its time to believe in the power of the goodness of our God! His anger has passed, behold, His Love has come!

    Please share this good news with all your friends and loved ones. You have nothing to lose and absolutely everything to gain! Believe in Christ again this Christmas! Bless Bethlehem with the reBirth of His Baby this Holiday Season!

    Together, lets end humanities' rebellion against God once and for all. There has never been a more important time for you to spread His Good News to the ends of the earth. Challenge your friends to share His Good News. They may not presently believe in God, but challenge them to watch God in Action if they will only participate in this good work! This will change all of our lives! This will save our brothers and sisters on the battlefield! This will end fear and bloodshed! This will bring about a Peace in our times of nothing less than Divine, Biblical Proportion! The call is now yours. His spoken Word has never been stronger! Serve your God and experience His blessing. If you are stuck in fear, (there is nothing to fear, guaranteed), hear Him speak again from His word and send it on for your Messiah as His Birthday Gift from You! There is no greater gift, there is no greater love. You'll never regret having taken part in this Great Day of Our Lord!

    Isaiah 41:9-10 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

    Through electronic media and whatever other gifts our Father has given you, it is time to Go out into all the world and spread His Good News and His invitation! Start communications calling on His Peace; Enter communications calling for His Peace; Pray for His Peace to reign in our hearts and minds all over the world. It is time to Love as we bear witness once again to this prophecy common to all from Isaiah 9:1-7;

    "Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan - The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder. For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor. Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.

    For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this."

    With Love from Our Father

    Your Brother.

    Amen.
